Questions before booking
Is Tembladera Wild Coast the same as Panama Kayak Fishing Expedition?
The lodge previously operated as Panama Kayak Fishing Expedition, also written PKFE. Roque Freitas now leads Tembladera Wild Coast. The published Story describes the lodge built by Pascal Artieda and its later transition to Roque. The current website is www.tembladerawildcoast.com.
How many anglers does the lodge take?
Four a week. Two cabins, two anglers each, with a private bathroom in every cabin.
Can I combine kayak and panga in the same week?
A week is booked in one platform. Each has its own boat, its own pace and its own rate, and the days are built around it.
When is the season?
December to May.
How long does it take to reach the lodge?
About eight and a half hours from Panamá City: seven hours by private minibus to Cambutal, then an hour and a half west by boat. A night in the capital on arrival and on departure is part of the trip.
How deep is the water, and how far out?
The bottom drops to between 500 and 1,000 metres less than two miles from shore.
Is there internet at the lodge?
Satellite Wi-Fi is kept for emergencies and minimum information. Personal access is charged separately and depends on the signal that day. Anyone who needs reliable connectivity for work should not book this week.
